What is Solar Thermal

Solar Thermal is a clean, highly efficient means of using renewable energy from the sun to provide hot water for domestic, commercial and industrial process . Put in simple terms, if you place a container full of liquid in the garden on a sunny day, in a short time the contents of the container become warm. Solar Collectors work in much the same way, but are very more efficient.

Solar Collector Diagram

A sealed circuit of fluid containing a special mix of glycol and water is pumped around the system through the Solar panels where is is heated and passed through a special solar coil within the hot water tank. The heat is then transfered to the main body of water within the tank, once up to temperature, this water is ready for use in the house, office or factory.

There are many advantages to installing an EWF Solar System. You will be helping to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and the carbon emissions that are causing long term damage to our climate, but also making savings in annual fuel bills. For example up to 70% of annual domestic hot water can be obtained via a quality Solar System.

The EWF T2 solar panels can be installed on either a sloping roof using an on-roof or in-roof mounting system or on flat roofs. EWF offers a choice of full system kits and if you prefer to have someone install them for you EWF can also provide qualified engineers and full installation packages.

Don't forget you can claim a grant of up to £400 towards the cost when installing a domestic system in England, Northern Island and Wales and up to 30% of the total cost if your property is located in Scotland so what are you waiting for?
